I agree with the environmentalist who has written this article. But, as the others say, if there are advantages, there are also disadvantages. In fireworks, if we wish to have a colorful New Year we must use fireworks but as a result, it will cause diseases and pollution in the atmosphere.

Sky lanterns instead of fireworks might work in some places…. but when they fall from the sky they can be a fire hazard and they also contribute to litter. There are better options to choose from. No fireworks!

You say that many people are unaware of the dangers of chemical fallout from fireworks. I don’t see it that way. I think we as a society are hard wired to festivities and a party atmosphere. We seem to be ill informed by choice.
Right now, Vancouver is hosting the symphony of fire and as much as informative posts attempt to make people aware of the danger, forget it. You’re considered a party pooper Grinch! Modern man must be a pathetically superficial species. Parrrrrrdy! That’s all that matters, the environment be damned.
